“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous 2 our liberties than standing armies. If the American ppl ever allow private banks 2 control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks & corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the ppl of all property till their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should b taken from the banks & restored 2 the ppl, 2 whom it prprly belongs."

  3. Well China, it's funny you should reply about that . I need to begin with a little personal history. Your other fan , R3volution , is my next door neighbor. We met about 10 years ago when he moved in next to me .

We became acquainted and found that both of us were of like mind in the survival aspect of things . We have been working as a team ever since. The 2 of us bought 1-7/8 acres out in the sticks and put a conex container along with a 5th wheel travel trailer on the land for a sh!t & git spot. I was a Scout/Sniper attached to a Force Recon unit in U.S.M.C. & it turned out that R3v was a RANGER out of Ft. Bragg, N.C..

I am an iron worker and he is a tin knocker so , between the 2 of us , we can build or improvise just about anything. We began placing survival items in the container for years. We went up one weekend to do some improvements to the property and found that someone had taken a plasma cutter to the container and ransacked the trailer. All of our eggs in the other basket were now GONE !

So, as you stated, Murphy has a sick sense of humor and his will be done at the worst possible moment, ALWAYS ! There you have a first hand account of trying to NOT keep all your eggs in one basket.

I will come back tomorrow to explain how and what I might do in the scenario you have placed in front of me on this article. I felt this personal history was required in order to put in my experience with splitting up a survival cache .

**Lesson learned:NO PLACE IS SECURE ENOUGH TO KEEP SOMEONE OUT IF THAT SOMEONE WANTS IN BAD ENOUGH .**

Anyways my brother , I am going to hit the rack so, I will come back and finish this tomorrow , if that's alright with you . As always China, THANKS A MILLION FOR KEEPING A PLACE FOR US TO DISCUSS THESE SCENARIOS AND BE ABLE TO NOT ONLY RECEIVE HELP ON THINGS BUT, ALSO TO ADD TO AND HELP OTHERS WITH INFO . THIS IS A GREAT THING YOU ARE DOING HERE AND I FOR ONE APPRECIATE ALL YOU DO HERE !

  5. Ya this happened to us about 4 years back , when things were still going well and no weapons were stolen as we couldn't leave em in there unattended . All we lost were some grains , beans , rice and other food items plus some tools and gear like , ALICE rucks, some footwear and cold weather clothing and some battle packs of ammo (approx. 450 rounds per weapon.

BTW , I really don't know what was used to cut open the side of the container, it appeared to be some type of cutting torch but, it was a very clean torch cut so , I figured they had a plasma cutter or something like it . Who knows or cares at this point , we're letting that one go as experience.

    BACK TO THE SCENARIO:
If all my preps were lost and family was taken by the quake , what to do then . Honestly , my first notion would be to hopefully salvage a bottle of Jack Daniels from the wreckage, because I'd need a stiff drink at that point . And probably a smoke along with an hour to collect myself.

Next , S.E.R.E. school would kick in . I'd need a place to hunker down and to give me some peace of mind , that would be first. Once I had shelter , I must secure the area and get to know what the situation looked like so that I could assess and act.

REMEMBER THE 3's : A HUMAN CAN ONLY LIVE 3 MINUTES WITHOUT AIR, 3 HOURS WITHOUT WARMTH (if it's winter) 3 DAYS WITHOUT WATER , 3 WEEKS WITHOUT FOOD , etc ..... So, I need shelter , done. I need to find a water source next, then food is going to become an issue shortly after .

Notice I am not looking to help anyone yet , if you are to survive and you are alone , you need to get your own personal situation squared away first. You cannot help anyone else if you are in need of help yourself . Additionally, In order to assist another person(s) , you'll need to have the means to do so .

Ok, I am squared away , looking for water, food and my shelter is built and secure. Let's go scavenge and find anything we can use in the pursuit of surviving until either help arrives or you can better your personal situation .

I was trained to use many, many things in the name of survival , this will be different for each individual. If you are Bear Grylls or Mcgyver , you can make anything from a stick of gum and a toothpick . I am neither of them and reality is a bitch . I cannot climb , run or carry as much as I once did , do not kill yourself trying to relive your youth, be realistic .

Anyways , I would secure my own situation and then either try to help others or wait for help.In TSHTF scenario , this post could go on for pages and pages or if the scenario changed to include a woman , injured person or kids it would complicate things tremendously .

That is the basics of what I would do in this situation . Eventually you will either hook up with others' who share your opinion and would take you in or you might find what you need by just rummaging through the rubble or you might be captured and die . It's a loaded scenario.

Let's hope it never happens to one of us and we get to keep our store bought goodies so that we may ensure the survival of our families and the Founders Republic !

  6. Oh man .....What a nightmare that was but, I have to laugh at it now . I am also laughing @ 3% for his lack of OPSEC in this matter LOL .. I luv ya like a brother threeper but, SHHHHHHH .

Keeping all of your eggs in 1 basket has both advantages and disadvantages . The advantages are that you have your gear stowed in the fashion that most fits your needs and YOU CAN WATCH IT , MAINTAIN IT and know it is still there when you need to put it into operational use at the drop of a hat .

The disadvantages , well, read China's scenario, you may lose it all at once through many different avenues of misfortune. This would leave you scrapping and scraping to rebuild in short notice and most likely , under duress .

No survival lessons from me , most of you already know how to git r dun when needed. 1 bit of advice though, Be very careful where you keep your eventual livelihood , everyone wants what you have and will take it when you are not watching .

I choose to keep most (most) of my stuff with me . Anyone trying to take it from me is going to get bruised at very least. My compadre and I have other items at an undisclosed location and that location will remain undisclosed . Believe me , it is as secure as could possibly be, I do not want to go through losing preps ever again to some scumbag thief .

Now that we have both been "Liberated" from our gainful employment , we plan to make improvements to the sh!t n git location and hopefully be able to make it more secure .

    Catch you all later

  7. Thanks fellas good advice from both.My two cents.Hopefully none of us go through a total SHTF situation, but that is one of the reasons we prep.So there you have a real life situation that happened.Do not leave gear where it can be observed,no matter how secure or secluded area, second story in two weeks I've heard like this.I think I feel a post coming on!
