I just got my first Mora knife. Very sharp right of the box.Slices paper! I'm sure a few licks on a stone and will be perfect.Companion mg from sportsmans guide. $13.47 plus $5.49 shipping. If you can't afford an expensive knife or don't want to mess up your expensive bushcraft knife this is the one to get!
Handle feels very comfortable, carbon steel blade,I like carbon steel.yes it will rust and even with the advances in stainless in my mind nothing holds an edge like carbon.Cheap plastic sheath Cheap! But it holds knife tight and is better than nothing. I have some extra Kydex so I will make it a proper sheath!
More to come looong day!
Be Prepared!

Still ingesting Chia seeds? I haven't heard you mention it anymore so I was wondering.
Similar here. To save my Blackhawk CQD, I use the Randall Model 1 at $22, but quite sufficient I do believe.
ReplyDeleteMora knives are great. Buy em and spread em around for use where ever. I think I have about 6 of them between the vehicles, house, barn and work shop.
ReplyDeleteHey Scout! Yes still eating them with my oatmeal. Thanks for the link. For the money its a steal!

Gotta love the fact good carbon steel blades are still out there. I used to buy a lot of blanks from Indian Ridge Traders back in the 1970s and put grips on them but I doubt they're around anymore.
ReplyDeleteThey had a Russell Green River blank, a buffalo skinner, and a ripper, and I'd almost say a man with those three blades would be hard pressed to need any others to get anything done needed doing.
Can't say I've ever heard of Mora Knives, though I have spent a goodly amount of time in and around Mora.
I eventually got so if I thought I needed a particular blade I'd grind it out myself. But mainly I just do it making saw blades nowadays if I need something of a particular thickness, tooth design, etc.
I'll have a look online for a gander at Mora Knives out of curiosity.
Nice post. Gracias, Jules
Thanks Jules! Good knife cheap price.
