“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous 2 our liberties than standing armies. If the American ppl ever allow private banks 2 control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks & corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the ppl of all property till their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should b taken from the banks & restored 2 the ppl, 2 whom it prprly belongs."

If you knew the bottom was gonna fall out what would you get right now?

An exercise.Lets say some how you were prewarned tomorrow at 8:00 am the banks were shutting down, the dollar just became poor toilet paper. What you would you run out and get right now?Food? Ammo? Cooking oil? Clothes? Toilet paper? Medicine?Liquor + smokes? Gas? Tires? So much I would need.Been prepping but not ready for a shut down. What would you get?Don't be shy.I would really like to hear your thoughts.

Be Prepared!

  1. Hell China that's an simple one this morning, I would run to Staples and get me an "EASY" button. But really all joking aside for my location (Desert) water is my primary concern, with bank shutdowns and and money worthless it is pretty much guaranteed that you would see wide-scale shutdown of the infrastructure and in most cases no power means no water so my biggest item so to speak would be securing a source of water or water filtration equipment. Protection from the 2 legged animals as well as food and shelter would rank right up there as well. For the above described situation I would also get as much fuel as possible and bug out to a safer location.

  3. I'd be making a trip to Winco (huge supermarket) to buy out their bulk food section of grains and dehydrated fruits/vegetables, then swing through the first aid section and clean it out. And as much TP as I can stack on top.

  8. Augh, China- I read this post and immediately had a craving for the bread dough sugar glazed donuts made by our local Italian Bakery. Life would really suck if I couldn't get another of those, soooo...
I'd have to run there and buy a truckload.
Of course, I'd probably have to fight off a horde of office-types going for the same thing, so there'd be a necessary stop at the local gunshop for more ammo and maybe a battle rifle in 30-30 cal (since I went with just my carry piece), and then I'd probably have to stealth back to the ranch, so a tent would be nice, and a pot of coffee to wash down a few donuts... pack stove and water bladder... of course, meat with donuts is a goodness thing, so a new rod and reel filled with Firewire. And then...

  10. China, for tobacco buy mild pipe tobacco in the 1 pound bags, They got skipped during the tax hike. I roll my own and have a couple of pipes as back up. 1 bag lasts about a month and is around $20.00, another $5.00 for papers and filters.
This is a big shopping week for me already so by Wed. I'll have another 50 pounds of rice, 40 pounds of lump charcoal, another propane tank and 3 more boxes of ammo.
As far as shopping I'd probably hit the Internet for a solar oven.

  12. Well I'm pretty well supplied for when the day comes so I think the first places I'd go would be the gun stores to grab extra ammo and all the guns. Not so much because I need them but to limit how many potential hostiles have them. Then I would go to lowes to get some building supplies to start fortifications. I figure if your well protected and have superior weapons everything else can be acquired later through trade.

  13. I think I would first spend some time calling family. Might be a long time (if ever) before being able to talk to them again. Other than that I think I would stick pretty close to home. Not that I have everything I need or want, but word would soon be out and it would be pretty chaotic in town. Those bank assholes can keep my 14 dollars. (Good to see you back China)

  14. A little late... just found the blog. First I'd go to the bank and take out $9,999 (to fly under the feds reportin radar), then I'd head to the local silver and gold seller that I do business with and buy up all their junk silver coins since the $ would be worthless. I've already got a nice stash, but in this case more will be better.
I just bought a Mosin Nagant and 480 rounds, and I already have a Remington 870 and a pistol, so I'm marginally covered there. Have tons of coconut oil for cooking and a freezer full of meat. I need to make more Ghee... I gotta get going on that solar backup for the freezer too...
